Salle des pas perdus in Paris, waiting for my EuroStar.
Sense of impermanence that comes from traveling. Relate it to the concept of impermanencea in Buddhism and meditation.
Romantic poetry collection as an offshot of the experience in Amsterdam.

People hustling and working hard at Starbucks.
- One guy in Lisbon is interviewing people for his coworking app
- A girl in Paris is spending three hours researching and calling over 20 places for a stage d’été pour étudiants.
- London Starbucks: sitting next to the window. The lady nezt to me writing in a noyebook. A guy comes in, warm greeting. The group outaide the window leaves, I don’t pay much attention to them. The guy and the gal talk about yheir charity work. Funding cuts by 2 million pounds, fundraising, breaking down barriers, improving mental health and education. Outside the window, a person with a limp walks by my window, picks up an almost empty plastic mug left behind by the group from earlier. He walks of, limping. I think back to a scene from Starbucks in Paris.
My God, I really want to practice people watching actively.
Next goal: pick a favorite Starbucks and offer to buy someone a coffee.
Since I know you appreciate a good Flixbus story almost as much as I appreciate a nice weather picture, here’s my Flixbus story from Friday on the way home from Zurich: a dude asks me whether he can sit next to me. I have a bad feeling about him because he had a long conversation with the police at the border where he said some stuff about his lawyer, apparently he’s involved in some legal case. But I know about implicit bias and stereotypes and all that stuff, and anyway it’s not my place to refuse someone a seat. He proceeds to put down his beers (plural) in front of him, do some of the quality manspreading, and after I begrudgingly but willingly helped him to connect his phone to Flixbus WiFi, he is now doing a video call (with his brother?) while putting the phone on the table in front of him so that I have a clear view of everything. He proceeds to have the video chat without headphones, screaming into the phone and whenever the connection inevitably cuts out, he starts singing and takes another sip from his beer. Did I mention that the person on the video call is in their bed, half-naked, and smoking a cigarette? And that, in the middle of his video call he suddenly starts talking to me, asking me whether I am going to Berlin, and when I say “no”, he follows up with the apparently serious question “Why not?“. The world truly contains a lot of funny people and I love my karma almost as much as I love Flixbus.
In Paris WhatsApp for Lindy, people ask whether it’s okay to do wild camping. Overall, much more relaxed attitude. I help a guy in the bus. The hotellier helps me carry my suitcase, this is not a fancy hotel. The bus stops twice way away from the bus stop tonlet people in. A girl asks another girl for a serviette at Starbucks pour essuyer qqc. The culture is just so much better! A woman kneels down next to a homeless person, I don’t know how the conversation starts. She has a bright yellow biking backpack. She ends up sitting down next to the man and they get into a very vivid conversation. She opens up her backpack, she is looking for something. She puts on a plastic glove, sitting there in a Schneidersitz. She starts examining the person’s feet, I think – I cannot quite see. She seems to be done with the application. She stays and talks some more. She changes her position, now kneeling on one knee. A slightly… skin tone tip with short sleeves, a steel blue jacket tied around her waist. Important detail: she is white, he is black, sleeping in the entrance of an apparently abandoned building. She replaces a bandage. I do not stay to watch their interaction finish. Starbucks is closing, so it is time to move on. OMG I am in LOVE with Paris. I had no clue how much I had missed this.
As of April 2025, there are 193 Starbucks stores in London, making it the city with the highest number of Starbucks locations in the United Kingdom.

On the ferry: I had a Zoom call with my main therapist. I’m no longer in therapy with her but we are on friendly terms and I like to keep her updated. Therapists are people too and everyone is happy to see concrete evidence that they are changing the world for the better. But what about my impact? ⇒ EA Global.
EA Global. Everyone who knows me, knows that I am an ambitious person. So if ever you, dear reader, are someone other than myself: know that I have chosen you to be among my friends which very few people are, and I rarely err. I think being ambitious can be attached with some … I am ambitious about my writing, about my work, about my meditation practice (yes, to its detriment), but also about morality. When I look back upon my life, I don’t want to say “Yeah, that looks nice & cozy.” I want it to be uncomfortable and I want it to be hard. So …
Mention Jenny and some EA in the context of EA Global.
Staying with Jindra
Scottish blabla
Getting on the ferry to Norway would make this just so perfect and memorable… I have to do that, even if it’s expensive. Maybe cue a week of hiking in Norway, really pushing my limit by hiking 30km per day and getting a total of 200km done, with the goal of climbing a mountain top that is not covered by the hiking trail network. I can leave some of my stuff with Jindra for that?
Sitting in the Mannheim Starbucks, melting. I look at my laptop, sweat drops are melting into each other on the trackpad. I wipe them away. Next to me, some students…
Next to me, some students are learning, I guess for BWL. I probably know the definition of Coporate Identity better than them at this point. What killed me: Was sind Steuern? Quote from their material: Geldlwistungen ohne direkte Gegenleistung. Cue them complaining about losing 1k of their money without getting anything back.
Vivi Atsumi. Feeling like I’m on top of things again.
Apart from me, on the bus to Oberflockenbach, there is only a senior carrying a black backpack, a package of Seni Active diapers, and who was looking through the trash can earlier, presumably rumaging for bottles.
